Ms. Yvonne Fry
I’m a Plant City native and small business owner who grew up a farmer’s daughter. I’m now raising my children in my hometown and working every day to create positive, impactful change in both Plant City and the Tampa Bay region – change I hope to bring to Tallahassee as a State Representative for Florida House, District 58.
After my faith and my family, my first passion is for service. I am the immediate past chair for both the Hillsborough Commission on the Status of Women and the Florida Commission on the Status of Women, and I’m an advisory board member with The Spring of Tampa Bay. I am proud that throughout my past history of service, I have been tapped with opportunities to lead. Which is also what I plan to do as your Representative in the Florida House.
My children, Arie and Barie, attend public school in Plant City. Education and developing our children into strong leaders is dear to my heart, and I’ve served as either a PTA Board Member or Past President for Walden Lake and Lincoln Elementary, Tomlin Middle and Plant City High schools. I am a founding member of the Raider Champions Foundation at Plant City High School. Additionally, I am a board member for Frameworks of Tampa Bay, which provides social and emotional learning programs for today’s youth.
I believe it is extremely important to create strong, viable communities for our children to raise their own families. I have long been an engaged member of the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce, and I am honored to serve currently as Chair of the Board. In addition, I was involved in the formation of the Plant City Economic Development Corp., and today serve on the corporation’s executive committee. The Chamber and the PCEDC are dedicated to creating jobs and growing businesses in Plant City, ensuring opportunities with a future for our local residents. As a longtime Plant City resident, I’ve also invested in my hometown by serving as a board member for Plant City Main Street and as a 15-year board member for the Plant City Board of Adjustment.
