Will this be the most anti-American Independence Day yet?
Will This Be The Most Anti-American Independence Day Yet? | Opinion
BRYAN GRIFFINON 7/1/21 AT 6:00 AM EDT
We are just a few days from the Fourth of July, and many who bear witness to current cultural trends are asking the obvious question: are we in for the most anti-American Independence Day yet?
While some will proudly fly the American flag this Fourth, others will burn it. This divisive mood has been fed by school curricula, university syllabi, and corporate employee trainings that paint a dark picture of the formation of our country.
Critical Race Theory (CRT), like other forms of Marxism, insists that the primary characteristic of any society is the conflict between its people. CRT divides people into two basic and conflicting camps—oppressors and the oppressed—on the basis of physical differences.

Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? book review
Book Review: Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? by Richard J. Maybury
How many times have you gone into a store and noticed the price of something has increased? It happens all the time. For that matter, I can remember listening to my grandmother tell me about her experiences when she was young in the 30’s and early 40’s. She used to be able to take a penny into the candy store and buy 3 items with it! So, what happened?
We are inundated daily with “experts” on the news channels spewing economic terms like “inflation,” “deficits,” and “monetary policy.” But, what do those terms actually mean and why are there differing philosophies on how to manage them?
Years ago, I came across a book that began an economic journey for me and provided such clarity on answers to the questions above (and more), that I always keep a copy of the book to give to others when the need arises. Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? By Richard J. Maybury was originally written in 1989 and begins a series of books tackling the subject of economics for middle to high school level children. However, the truths taught in the books are wonderfully explained from the perspective of a Constitutional Capitalist, which the author calls a Juris Naturalist (natural law). The books are rife with quotes from our founding fathers and an adherence to their economic philosophies.
I highly recommend everyone read the Uncle Eric series of books, but especially Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? to educate yourself rather than relying on “experts” who probably don’t adhere to many of the ideologies of the founding fathers.
Blacklisted by History book review
Book Review: Blacklisted by History by M. Stanton Evans
What if I told you that what you think you know about Senator Joe McCarthy and his investigations into Communists working in the United States government was wrong?
The conventional image of the Senator from Wisconsin is of a bully, a liar, and a demagogue but that is the media narrative which has yet to be corrected after over 60 years of gaslighting. The author presents a well-researched narrative detailing McCarthy’s rise to prominence through his censure and beyond. Using original documents obtained from the Senate and FBI archives; personal papers of those who “starred” in the drama; and digging through both de-classified documents from the United States and the former Soviet Union, M. Stanton Evans takes great pains to lay out what was a 1950s version of the Deep-State Cabal.
The parallels to today are stunning and show that the United States government hasn’t changed much from the 1940s. Many people today confuse what Senator McCarthy investigated with the House Un-American Affairs Committee (HUAC) and rarely use primary sources to tell the story. What the author found was that people who reference McCarthy in their narrative cite other authors creating a circular narrative where one wrong person cites another instead of investigating themselves.
Thomas Jefferson told us to “Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear.” So, years ago, I began a deep-dive into Senator McCarthy – what I found was disturbing until I came across Blacklisted by History which put to rest many of my underlying reservations about the “consensus” that McCarthy was public enemy number one.
Is It Time to Cancel Darwin?
Is It Time to Cancel Darwin?
Today’s society is hyper-sensitive to anything that is or was, racist. The perception of racism is so “critical” that we have to change our lexicon (no more “Brown Bag Lunch”); forego long-established disciplines (Mathematics, for instance); abstain from the masterpieces (Shakespeare, Mozart, and others); even “climate change” and Dr. Seuss have not escaped the new race police. These seemingly innocuous issues linked to racism are one part of Grievance Studies called Critical Race Theory where everything and everyone (except for white males) are victims of racial discrimination which must be eliminated, changed, or apologized for.
When the racial police come after someone or something, they continually attack online; in the media; and, in growing numbers of incidents, in person. The point of the attacks is to “cancel” the object of revulsion – statues must be torn down; buildings must be renamed; history must be rewritten, and white people must grovel.
This brings me to Darwin, who, along with Karl Marx are the saviors to the Left. Both men wrote their tomes in the mid-1800s, (from a very white Europe I might add). Both were white males, misogynists, and racists – strike one. I would also add that both men were also anti-religion, anti-freedom, and anti-Semites.
Darwin’s book, On the Origin of Species, has been retitled over the years with publishers quietly dropping more than half of the original title from later printings. The book had been titled, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life (emphasis mine). In his later book, Descent of Man, Darwin makes very clear that his “favored race” is Caucasian calling all others savage and uncivilized.
Karl Marx took Darwin’s evolutionary ideas in the physical realm and applied them to the social and economic realm with the estimated results to be at least 100 million people killed and countless others imprisoned, tortured, or worse. Those 100 million people were citizens of countries under Marx’s philosophy who were killed by their own state, not enemies killed in wars of expansion. Let that sink in for a moment – that means that leaders in these countries sanctioned the killing of their own citizens in order to keep control. Why? Because it defies human nature, squashes freedom, and kills innovation. Plato himself came to that conclusion when contemplating his Socialist Utopia in Republic.
There is clear causation between evolution presented as science and the horrors of the 20th century perpetrated by Nazis, Soviets, and others. If we all came from nothing, then what value is human life? Eugenics is just a way for humans to “help” the evolutionary process. Racism is nothing more than recognizing the evolutionary progression of one “species” over another (Darwin used species and race interchangeably).
I understand that Logic has been removed from schools and common sense is no longer very common, but based on the recent calls for everything the United States embodies to be canceled because we had slaves and segregation (news-flash: nearly every country on the planet has slavery in their history), shouldn’t we also cancel other philosophies that have perpetuated the same?

Be Bold
by Allen West
Back in 1998 I was assigned to the 1st Battalion (Air Assault), 377th Field Artillery Regiment at Ft. Bragg as the Executive Officer, second in command. The Battalion was nicknamed the “Gunslingers”, and my call sign was Gunslinger 5. Ours was a unique mission in that we were a medium caliber, 155mm, cannon artillery unit whose mission was to train and be employed on the battlefield via helicopter insertion. Our soldiers had to be some really gutsy Bubbas to stand on top of a sling load prepped cannon while an Army CH-47 helicopter comes down overhead…and secure the artillery piece to the sling load towing hook of the chopper. And yes, they had to do that in pitch black darkness.
That is why our Battalion motto was four simple words, “Be Bold, Air Assault”.

Justice and "Social Justice" Are Two Very Different Things
by Gary Galles www.mises.org/blog
Recently, Harvard political theorist Danielle Allen wrote in the Washington Post of “The most important phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance” — “with liberty and justice for all.” Allen recognized that justice required “equality before the law” and that freedom exists “only when it is for everyone.”
But she confused democracy — defined as progressives “build[ing] a distributed majority across the country, as is needed for electoral college victory” — with liberty, which is very different. Similarly, she replaced the traditional meaning of justice (“giving each his own,” according to Cicero) with a version of “social justice” inconsistent with it. And her two primary examples of rights — “rights” to education and health care — were inconsistent with both liberty for all and justice for all.

Mia Love's Powerful, Passionate Speech in Support of Innocent Human Life

“It was inconvenient for them to find out they were pregnant with their third,” Love explained about her parent’s choice. “Because both had to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Some would say it would have been easier for them to have an abortion but this couple had to make a difficult choice to protect the life of their child or always wonder what might have been,” Love told the huge crowd rallying in Washington, D.C.

With the stroke of a pen, the president assaulted the heart of the law that was the domestic centerpiece of his predecessor’s administration. How did this happen? How can a U.S. president, who took an oath to enforce the laws faithfully, gut one of them merely because he disagrees with it?
