So what was going on between the two camps – outgoing Obama administration and the incoming Trump team, during the Presidential Transition period from November 9th 2016 thru January 20th 2017?

Let me say this again as I have said before, General Flynn did nothing wrong nor violated any law or impinged upon any of the Obama administration foreign or national security policies. General Flynn was serving in the capacity as the President-Elect’s, Assistant to the President and National Security Adviser (APNSA) during the period of official Presidential Administrative Transition – a process that starts the day after the election and continues through noon on January 20th. In his capacity as the designated nominee to be the President-Elect’s National Security Advisor (NSA), General Flynn began the tedious process and regime of doing what was necessary to become just that, the NSA.

During that period, there are processes that he is authorized to participate in, be involved in, and there are actions that he is authorized to conduct and engage in. They are the necessary requisite protocols and prerequisites of the office of the NSA and head of the National Security Council (NSC) staff.  I know, I’ve been there, having served as a staff aid to the NSA. This means everything from getting briefings; corroborating with outgoing administration officials, both throughout the White House and the NSC; putting together his NSC staff; and meeting, coordinating with, and establishing the respective relationships with members of Congress, senior military offices in the Pentagon, as well as senior foreign service officers and staff, diplomats, and our ambassadors. Additionally, there are the necessary international protocols as well — meeting with and talking to his international foreign counterparts, foreign diplomats, senior foreign ministers, foreign ambassadors, and his national security equivalents. Once being designated his NSA by Donald Trump, the phone never stopped ringing with calls to congratulate him and requests to address both current and future business and issues from the above mention people. In fact, by January 20th General Flynn entertained in excess of 50 plus such calls. Bottom line; he can’t start doing this on the afternoon on January 20th – it’s too late to start by that time, and would put him behind the power curve. Of course it is also quite silly to think that an NSA in transition could change policy of the current sitting President, one Barack Obama, since he, General Flynn technically didn’t have any authority to do so. That is all merely a pipe dream and a lie on the part of the mainstream media and Democrats in their attempt to justify their false accusation and anti-Trump narrative.

During the same time period, at least based on what we know right now, at least nine political appointees in the Obama administration, from one or more intelligence agencies, including the NSA, CIA, DIA, or the DNI, were involved in leaking sensitive information to the press, which resulted in General Mike Flynn’s resignation as the National Security Advisor.

The nine individuals were political loyalists were opposed to President Trump; they released transcripts of recorded phone conversations to the press of General Flynn’s conversations with the Russian Ambassador to the U.S. (by law, the name of any U.S. Citizen in such a classified transcript must be redacted, hiding their identity from the press). Such has been the accepted protocol, until now. So why now, (? Incomplete thought. Perhaps you might ask ‘So what is different this time? Or something like that…because you’re answering an unfinished question with a wonky code that makes the two parts of the sentence fragmented rather than congruent. I’d say this or something similar…What makes this situation different is that on January 3, 2017, the Obama administrations by way of the NSA and its Justice Department, signed Procedures for the Availability or Dissemination of Raw Signals Intelligence Information by the National Security Agency which is an amendment to Executive Order 12333 – RAW SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE AVAILABILITY PROCEDURES (United States Intelligence Activities, December 4, 1981 and as Amended by Executive Orders 13284 (2003), 13355 (2004) and 13470 (2008), all of allowed for and ensured our nation’s most sensitives were secured and the protection of our sources and methods of collection and obtaining intelligence was covered and guarded. Most importantly, it protected the identities of sources, foreign agents, allies, and American citizens. That assurance all changed with one of Obama’s final Executive Orders.

This is critically important, and to me personally, was an intentional act by President Obama to facilitate just what his rogue hold-overs in the intelligence community are doing to the Trump administration. These expanded powers provides the authority and allows them to rapidly share and disseminate highly classified information across the inner agency, specifically the intelligence and national security community with reduced restrictions as to who is allowed access to receive and see the intelligence information and data, to include sources and methods. These are the expanded powers that are driving the rapid ability to move, manipulate, and disseminate highly sensitive intelligence information that was/is being used against General Flynn and President Trump. It is putting highly classified information into the hands of those outside the scope of otherwise ‘need to know’. It allows very classified and sensitive information to get to lawyers and others who don’t have a need to know, by virtue of their positions and where they work. It is interesting that it was signed on or about January 3rd, 2017 — that is extremely coincidental and convenient.

As I previously noted in my February 14, 2017 article in American Out Loud, again, General Flynn did not violate any laws in his conversations with the Russian Ambassador, and there was no collusion during the election.

Unfortunately, General Flynn failed to provide President Trump with complete information about the conversations he had with the Russian Ambassador, and misled Vice President Pence, resulting in the need for his departure.

Because of the degree of sensitivity of the information, only senior personnel in the intelligence agencies like John Brennan and James Clapper would have received the subject information. The goal of the nine leakers, and we know who they are, was to take down the National Security Advisor; and by default, they’ve imperiled National Security. The intelligence agencies felt threatened by General Flynn’s criticism of how they operate, in particular that they opposed his plan to reveal the anti-US provisions of Obama’s flawed Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement, and they targeted him long before President Trump was elected.

The FBI will end up investigating who released the classified transcripts to the press; those individuals should be charged with perpetrating a federal crime. The leaks over time created a non-stop press frenzy, and contributed in large measure to the resignation of General Flynn. The interference in domestic politics by intelligence agencies is a major threat to the democracy of the Republic, and a federal crime. Their success in removing General Flynn as the National Security Advisor will not be the end of attacks on President Trump’s staff; there have been reports by Democratic Congressmen that the next target will be Kellyanne Conway, and then they will more than likely go after Steve Bannon, Reince Prebius with the ultimate target being President Trump.

While Donald Trump and his administration are trying to get established, there has been a very dangerous conspiracy underway in the Republic since the November Election, and the conspiracy has gained steam and momentum in the four-weeks since President Trump was inaugurated. The conspiracy is being promoted by Mr. Obama’s new organization for progressives, the “Organization for Action” or OFA; where it has 14 National Field Directors organizing volunteers in 50-states, as well as links into the Federal government where Mr. Obama left-wing hold-overs remain and continue to imbed themselves and lock their heels, remaining ever steadfast. Nevertheless, they all need to go. Furthermore, the Chicago based OFA, with a Washington, DC office as well, is being funded by George Soros and is supported by former terrorist and Obama friend Bill Ayers. You can learn a great deal about OFA by going to its Web site; and by searching other links on the Internet that discuss OFA’s goals. What is OFA? OFA opposes gun rights, supports the immigration of Muslim refugees, supports the entry of illegal aliens, opposes the wall on the Southern Border, supports LGBT initiatives, supports the UN Climate Change initiatives, supports retention of Obamacare and numerous other left-wing and radical liberal causes and principles. Additionally, OFA has instituted a massive Alinsky-type methodology in its training program for volunteers in all 50-states; is promoting Congressional Town Halls demonstrations to shout down Congress and its Congressional members efforts and agendas, not in-line with the OFA;  as well as supporting street demonstrations (an to instigate riots) across the nation, etc.

To counter President Trump’s strategy and plan to “Make America Great Again’, Mr. Soros has funded and trained 32,000 Alinsky trained radical anarchists to support OFA demonstrations against each new Trump initiative. The goal is to make President Trump’s term in office ungovernable by any and all means. Mr. Soros is funding and supporting the radical left to form over 1,000 groups operating in all 50-states, who will stop at nothing to take down and/or derail the Trump administration and its efforts. Once again, it should be remembered that Mr. Obama is the first occupant of the Oval Office to ever mobilize millions of Americans to demonstrate in the streets against his successor on Inauguration Day. This also makes Obama the first occupant of the Oval Office to organize street demonstrations, across the nation, against his successor on every weekend since the new President was inaugurated.

Obama’s Organization for Action, along with the political left of center liberal media establishment, the Democrat Caucus in Congress, and even Establishment, anti-Trump Republicans and the NeverTrump phenomenon will be opposing President Trump for the next four-years with the massive support of many radical organizations. As a side note; The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol, a self-proclaimed conservative, even said that he preferred a ‘deep state’ over a Trump Presidency, proving that the Republican establishment is just as entrenched as Democrats. This was an astonishing revelation, which I will briefly address the impact in closing.

Nevertheless, OFA demonstrators will be joined by organizations funded by once again, by George Soros and his “Open Society Foundation”,  and other  groups and organization like the Muslim Brotherhood, La Raza, Black Lives Matter, the Communist Party USA, the Nation of Islam, Al Sharpton’s “National Action Network”, Moveon.org, the Tides Foundation, Amnesty International, the American Federation of Teachers, the Weatherman Underground, the New Black Panther Party, CodePink, SEIU, and numerous other who have been supporting the massive demonstrations across the nation opposing every one of President Trump initiatives, Cabinet nominees, White House staff appointments, and most importantly, Supreme Court Justice selections. Likewise, the violent and radical opposition, geared toward shutting down free speech, is being promoted by Obama, William Ayers, and George Soros.

The Trump administration has political opponents on both sides of the aisle who don’t want President Trump to upset the way things have always been done in Washington prior. Although the Republicans control both houses of Congress, it appears that the Republican leadership will support Congressional investigations into the Trump administration staff Kellyanne Conway and General Mike Flynn. Their motive and their agenda for doing so may come into question.

The Democrats never approved an investigation of a single Obama’s staff member or scandal when the Obama administration had control of Congress. Scandals like “Fast and Furious” that required investigation were opposed, and Democrats opposed the investigation into “The Battle of Benghazi”. Unlike the Republicans, the Democrats circled their wagons to protect Obama. It appears that Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell will not protect President Trump in the same way from an unfair Congressional investigations being threatened by Congressional Democrats.

In the aftermath of General Flynn’s resignation the new National Security Adviser, whoever it turns out to be, they will need to be a strong stalwart of the President, someone steeped in and having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the intelligence community and its culture, the way General Flynn does. They will need to have a thorough grasp of both how the Pentagon and State Department operate, the interagency process, and a thorough and coherent and strategic world view from the perspective of a “realist.” He or she will need to be powerful, dynamic, and an operational focus — who can identify the problem and has the wherewithal, personality and guttural capability to go for the kill, when needed. Paramount will be honesty, integrity and loyalty, and they must be a patriot.

In the meantime, General Flynn’s resignation as national security adviser just 25-days into the Donald Trump presidency provides no conclusions for this White House.  It must immediately begin addressing a series of lingering questions, based on the knowledge the administration now has of the extensive rogue intelligence operatives who have personal vendetta against Trump and his team. The administration in turn must react and respond politically, legally, and operationally to remove this cancer that could jeopardize our across-the-board intelligence and national security capability, and to stifle it and curtail it, now! Further, from a publicly and public relations standpoint, President Trump and his senior officials must frame the narrative, that; “the bureaucrats who are trying to undermine our security DON’T care about Americans, just themselves and maintaining their power.” Right now the communications effort is faltering, if not for Mr. Trump himself, who is his own best spokesman there wouldn’t be any in the West Wing.

Let me briefly mention my reference to the “Deep State” and what it is, as I previously noted, because this is what is at play here; a state within a state is a political situation in a country when an internal organ (“deep state”), such as the armed forces and civilian authorities (intelligence agencies, police, administrative agencies and branches of governmental bureaucracy), does not respond to the current civilian political leadership.

This is a very serious situation for America. The Deep State can now claim a Trump administration scalp. And it’s hungry for more – a lot more. As for how all this is dealt with and might end if the Deep State domination continues, as Eli Lake approvingly quoted Representative Nunes in the National Review: “First it’s Flynn, next it will be Kellyanne Conway, then it will be Steve Bannon, then it will be Reince Priebus.” To which Lake added,

The current state of affairs led by Trump’s ‘inside the federal government bureaucratic version of kill-by-leak or be- killed-by-leak’ political opposition is ‘setting a dangerous precedent’ that unfortunately and subsequently forced Mr. Trump to cede to demands for General Flynn’s head. As a result of that, they smell blood in the water. It is going to be a long four, but hopefully 8-years and President Trump will need the support of the American people to sustain him and save the Republic against the relentless fight on many fronts inside Washington. Our new President inherited a mess. He deserves the chance to fix it. Give him the due diligence and the wherewithal to do so. The alternative that had been offered is unthinkable – that which sets the course toward becoming the largest third-world state if we are allowed to reverse back toward the direction of Obama’s third-term under the guise of Hillary Clinton, or worse, a crony- progressive-socialist-kleptocracy, championed by the current 2020 Democrat front-runner.
